Adult & Juvenile Drug Treatment Court

Adult Drug Treatment Court
The Rappahannock Regional Adult Drug Treatment Court (RRADTC) became operational in October 1998 and has the capacity to serve 75 offenders.

This program is a collaborative effort among the:

  • Fredericksburg Circuit Court,
  • Fredericksburg Commonwealth's Attorney's Office,
  • Office of the Public Defender,
  • Rappahannock Area Community Services Board,
  • Adult Probation and Parole (District 21), and
  • Rappahannock Regional Jail. 

The RRADTC is an intensive outpatient program for non-violent, substance dependent offenders, that last a minimum of one year. Participants must be a resident of the City of Fredericksburg or the Counties of King George, Spotsylvania, or Stafford.  Criminal charges are dismissed upon successful completion of the Drug Court program. The RACSB has worked to develop a curriculum for the Drug Court to address co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

Juvenile Drug Treatment Court
The Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Drug Treatment Court became operational in November 1998 and has the capacity to serve 20 participants.

This program is a collaborative effort among the:

  • Fredericksburg Juvenile and Domestic Court,
  • Fredericksburg Commonwealth's Attorney's Office,
  • Office of the Public Defender,
  • 15th District of the Court Services Unit,
  • Rappahannock Area Community Services Board, and
  • Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Referrals to this program can only be made through the Court Services Unit. For individuals successfully completing the intensive program, charges against them are dismissed. The RACSB has worked to develop a curriculum for the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court to address co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
